Please see our website for more information about our teams.  Practices will run Monday/Tuesday/Thursday at Twin Lakes Recreation Center.  Practices for all ages will fall between 2:30-5:30 on these days.  We play locally as well as travel to other sites including Indy, Terre Haute, Columbus, Evansville, and may possibly travel to Fort Wayne this year for older teams.  Be advised that plans are subject to change.  Updates will be posted on our website at www.bloomingtonbobcats.org.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Athlete Eligibility

"The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” – Proverbs 11:1-3

Competing with integrity is important to protect the reputation of the organization and homeschool sports. Even though the goal of a competition is to win, the way in which the game is played with the athletes involved is more important than the outcome.

Athlete Eligibility Rules-

How you know your child is ELIGIBLE:

  • At least 51% of primary education is parent- directed and done at home
  • If college courses are taken by the player through the university, it must be done through the high school dual-credit program
  • After board approval, if the player has an exception form approved by the Board (player's school does not have a basketball program for their grade)
  • After board approval, if the player transfers mid-year into the Bobcat program

How you know your child is NOT ELIGIBLE:

  • Player  participates in another homeschool, public, or private school team in the sport
  • Child's education is NOT 51% parent-directed and schooled at home
  • Player is 19 on or before September 1st of the current season
  • Player has graduated from homeschool, public school, or private school

Please be sure your player MEETS THESE REQUIREMENTS.  If your child does NOT meet the requirements or you are not sure that your child does, please download the exception form below and email it to bobcatshomesports@gmail.com.

Exceptions to any of these requirements can only be made by written approval of the Board. The Board will follow the current guidelines and practices of the national tournament committees for that particular sport when there is a question about eligibility.  You may continue your registration so that we can start processing your request.  However, it is important that you understand that permission to play must be granted by the Bobcats Board and often times this means seeking higher approval from state or national bodies.

If your request is granted, Board approval may be given.  If permission is denied by a higher governing body or the Board your child will not be able to play with the Bobcats.  We will try to secure this decision as quickly as possible.  Thanks for your understanding.

IF YOU DON'T MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE EXCEPTION FORM AND SUBMIT VIA EMAIL TO BOBCATSHOMESPORTS@GMAIL.COM. PLEASE DOWNLOAD FORM NOW.

FREE THROW FUNDRAISER OPPORTUNITY

Do you want to help lower your athlete's fees?  If your athlete plans to play on the u12 or u14 or u16 teams then consider having him or her take part in our Free Throw Fundraiser on Friday, August 26 at Twin Lakes from 3-5 p.m. (Please RSVP to Patricia at pwoodruff85@gmail.com.)

We will plan to shoot 100 free throws at Twin Lakes on the Friday, August 26 (can be less for younger athletes.) This has been a very successful event in the past! People can support them with a one time payment for shooting the free throws, or they can make a pledge to reward them for each free throw made.  Because we are not a 501(c)3 we are asking families to take payment from folks and then directly apply this money to help with their athlete's fees.  We have attached a form below that you can print out if you'd like to keep track of your pledges. (Note it says girls at the top but you can easily cross it out and use it for your boys as well!) Let us know if you if you have any questions!
